The 2024 Music Victoria Awards are coming up fast, with this year’s nominees announced today from a list of record-breaking entrants.

As always, the Music Victoria Awards recognise musicians, venues, festivals, and professionals who keep the state’s music scene alive and thriving.

Up for three awards at this year’s event is G Flip, who’s been nominated for Best Album, Best Solo Artist and Best Pop Work, the former and latter categories for their album DRUMMER. After winning Best Emerging Artist in 2013, Hiatus Kaiyote are up for Best Group, while Ninajirachi has been nominated for Best DJ, Best Producer and Best Electronic Work (for Girl EDM).

Elsewhere, Tones And I has been nominated for Best Pop Work (for Beautifully Ordinary), and artists including Mindy Meng Wang, The Belair Lip Bombs, and The Vovos have been nominated for two awards each. Other nominees at this year’s Music Victoria Awards include Jess Ribeiro, Miss Kaninna, Kaiit, Maple Glider, and more.

This year’s award ceremony will be held on Thursday, 24 October, at The Edge at Federation Square. You can view the full list of nominees below and cast your vote for the public-voted categories before Tuesday, 1 October, here.
