SXSW Sydney has made another announcement this morning, adding Coachella CEO Paul Tollett, Queer Eye star Tan France, Australia’s Barkaa, Slack co-founder Cal Henderson and AI expert Amy Webb, amongst many others, to its impressive growing line-up.
The Sydney music, arts and business showcase event is now a little under three months away, with the event taking place from 15-22 October.
The inaugural event for Sydney promises to be as exciting and career-defining as the Austin home of SXSW, in which Uber and Billie Eilish first became names to remember.
“With just under three months to go, this is the first time we’ve been able to hint at the scope of the inaugural SXSW Sydney,” Managing Director of SXSW Sydney, Colin Daniels, revealed in a statement. “Never before have this many entrepreneurs, artists, futurists, innovators and titans of every industry all been in Sydney at one time.
“As we pull together over 1,000 events and experiences, our team are still searching for a poster big enough to reveal it all. After 19 visits to SXSW in Austin over the years, I can’t wait to see what we think of as ‘the United Nations of the creative industries’ here in Sydney.”
Today, SXSW Sydney adds 100 artists for the music side of the festival, including Barkaa, Flyana Boss (USA) and EKKSTACY (CAN), STUMPS, Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys and many more, making up the humongous roster of 400 artists set to perform.

SXSW Sydney also introduces over 700 world-leading panel speakers to host over 300 panel sessions. This is only a teaser announcement – SXSW Sydney has even more to come, and we’ll update this article as more information arrives.
In May, SXSW Sydney unveiled the first round of local artists to be presented at its first-ever event down under. The announcement included the seven-piece Yolngu Funk act Andrew Gurruwiwi Band, Alter Boy, Teenage Joans, Dean Brady, PANIA, Phoebe Go, and more.
