Amazon Music has once again reunited with Support Act ahead of this year’s AusMusic T-Shirt Day, making a special promise.
As the first official matched giving partner for this year’s initiative, Amazon Music has announced that it will match donations for AusMusic T-Shirt Day, dollar for dollar.
“Amazon Music has been a dedicated supporter of Support Act for several years, and having them step up as our first matched giving partner for 2026 provides a major boost for music workers doing it tough,” said Clive Miller, Chief Executive Officer at Support Act.
“Donating today doubles the direct commercial and operational impact of every dollar given, helping us expand our vital First Nations programs, crisis relief grants, and mental health helplines ahead of AusMusic T-Shirt Day in November."
Amazon Music launches its giving campaign on Thursday, 22 October, with funds going towards music workers in crisis and boosting support for First Nations music initiatives. Donations also go towards mental health services.
This year’s AusMusic T-Shirt Day takes place on Thursday, 26 November. However, with Amazon Music’s initiative kicking off tomorrow, the company’s matched giving coincides with Creative Australia’s AusArt Day.
From Thursday, 22 October, you can double your impact when donating to Support Act online.
Through its partnership with Support Act, Amazon Music is featuring its flagship Blak Loud playlist, which spotlights Indigenous music creators in Australia.
Chantelle Georgiou, Head of Label and Artist Relations at Amazon Music ANZ, explained that the company is “excited” to once again join forces with Support Act for AusMusic T-Shirt Day.
She said, “By pairing our dollar-for-dollar donation match with our Blak Loud playlist, we are proud to spotlight incredible First Nations talent like Baker Boy, 3%, Becca Hatch, and Kobie Dee while ensuring music industry workers across the country have access to essential crisis support and mental health care."
Lining up with the partnership are some of the t-shirts for sale as part of AusMusic T-Shirt Day, which feature exclusive designs spotlighting prominent First Nations artists Baker Boy, 3%, and Becca Hatch. Meanwhile, First Nations ambassador Kobie Dee joins the campaign.
Nooky, a member of the rap group 3%, has reflected on the group’s sharing of Blak stories and truth-telling.
He said of Support Act’s partnership with Amazon Music, “By backing First Nations artists and support services, Amazon Music’s matched donations for Support Act’s AusMusic T-Shirt Day are helping to ensure our community gets the resources it deserves.”
Becca Hatch said taking care of communities and artists means a lot to her, and she shared her gratitude for being part of giving back to the Australian music industry. “My t-shirt design, Black Flower, explores feminine strength and growth, and seeing Amazon Music match donations means every person that donates on 22 October makes twice the impact,” she added.
Baker Boy also spoke about how AusMusic T-Shirt Day supports artists and musicians’ crews alike, who he described as “the backbone of the industry.” He added, “With Amazon Music matching donations today, it gives everyone a chance to support the mob and keep local music thriving.
“My tee design with Minna Leunig is inspired by my track BIGGEST MOB. Bäru, Mäṉa (crocodile, shark) has this playfulness that comes back to the core of what Baker Boy is all about. Can't wait to see all you mob rocking it.”
