Few DJs embody house music quite like Mark Farina. Known worldwide for his legendary extended sets, Farina seamlessly moves between his iconic Mushroom Jazz grooves and deep Chicago House selections.
Originally from Chicago and later based in San Francisco, Farina has been shaping the sound of house since the early ’90s. Through his celebrated Mushroom Jazz series and label Great Lakes Audio, his tastemaking skills continue to inspire both seasoned dance music veterans and newcomers alike.
While exploring purist forms of house, Farina pioneered Mushroom Jazz — a blend of acid jazz, West Coast organic sounds, and urban beats — a style that remains uniquely his own.
Farina’s many appearances in Brisbane since the early ’90s are the stuff of local legend. His deep connection with the city’s house community is undeniable — if you know, you know.
After a long break from touring Australia, his recent return saw two sold-out Brisbane shows in record time. Now, he’s back for a specially curated exclusive extended set.
Set in the stunning Blackbird Riverside, this indoor/outdoor event will be powered by the world-renowned L-Acoustics sound system — delivering natural, dynamic, and precise sound, perfectly tuned for the detail and energy of house music.
Blackbird is housed in Brisbane’s Riverside Centre, a Bauhaus-inspired landmark designed by Austrian-born architect Harry Seidler. With sweeping views of the Brisbane River and Story Bridge, it’s one of the city’s most iconic settings.
