Fresh off the back of their blistering new single “My Heart’s Dead!”, Adelaide punk-pop duo Teenage Joans are hitting the road for a limited run of headline shows this October, bringing their electric energy to Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
A love letter to sweaty singalongs, chaotic pit hugs, and pop hooks that don’t quit, “My Heart’s Dead!” blends the raw energy of punk with a sugar-rush of infectious melodies - just as the Joans do best. It’s big, bratty, and beautifully cathartic. A track made to scream from the crowd, fists in the air!
Inspired by their unreleased take on Kesha’s “Die Young” for triple j’s Like A Version, the song evolved into a cheeky mashup of Kesha meets Blink-182, layering soaring vocal hooks over grungy guitars and unfiltered emotion. Think heartbreak, hope, and a whole lot of attitude.
This short run of headline dates celebrates not just the release of “My Heart’s Dead!”, but a huge few years for the band. Since taking out the triple j Unearthed High crown in 2020, Teenage Joans have levelled up at every turn - landing multiple Hottest 100 entries, breaking records at the SAM Awards, and dropping their debut album The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest, which earned them seven ARIA chart appearances and a nomination for Best Heavy Album.
With a touring history that includes support slots for Foo Fighters, Sleeping With Sirens, Sum 41, Amy Shark, and PUP, plus appearances at SXSW, Laneway, Unfiy Gathering and Good Things, Teenage Joans have honed a live show that’s sweaty, joyful, and cathartic as hell.
