Award-winning singer-songwriter Ernest Aines returns to George Lane for a special afternoon performance. Following sold-out UK tours and major international festival appearances — including Celtic Connections (Scotland) and Cambridge Folk Festival (UK) — Ernest has become known for his emotive live shows, intricate guitar work, and genre-blurring sound. His music has drawn comparisons to Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake, Ray LaMontagne, and Bon Iver.
His music was described by Rhythms Magazine as having “universal, borderless and timeless” appeal. Highlights from the past year include BBC live sessions and nominations for Artist of the Year (Folk Alliance Australia) and Best Folk Work (Music Victoria).
Joining Ernest as special guest is Joel Havea — his soulful groove-laced blend of blues, roots and acoustic soul has taken him to over 900 stages across 25 countries. Tongan and raised in Melbourne, Joel spent 15 years touring Europe and has played major festivals including Montreux Jazz and Reeperbahn. In 2025, he was a featured artist at the Australian Pavilion at World Expo Osaka.
