HIGH TIDE, LOW RIDE

Sunday 27 DecemberPort Beach Brewery - Fremantle4pm-12am

Crown Ruler and Dancing In Space collide again for some peak summer business by the sea.Eight hours in the open air at Port Beach Brewery, starting under the afternoon sun and rolling through until midnight with Funktion-One sound and a cast spanning Detroit, Tokyo, London and Boorloo.

Detroit heavyweight Marcellus Pittman brings the deep musical language of his hometown — raw house, soul, funk and techno shaped by decades behind the decks and his place within the legendary 3 Chairs alongside Theo Parrish, Moodymann and Rick Wilhite.

Japan’s Soichi Terada brings the warmth and joy of Far East Recording - melodic, playful Japanese house stretching back to the late ’80s and now beloved by dancefloors around the world.

London’s System Olympia occupies a world of her own, folding boogie, synths, R&B and slow-burning dance music into something distinctly her own.

South London’s Mia Koden takes things deeper into the soundsystem scape, drawing on dub, roots reggae, UK bass, 2-step and drum & bass.

They’re joined by Boorloo favourites Ephacy, Montana and Rok Riley, setting the pace from the early afternoon.LINEUP A–ZEphacyMarcellus Pittman (US)Mia Koden (UK)MontanaRok RileySoichi Terada (JP)System Olympia (UK)
