Established Canberra band Coolibah Coolective and emerging Canberra performers Daisy Chain are teaming up to launch Coolibah Coolective’s second album (See the Scene) and Daisy Chain’s debut album (Playin with the band!).
That’s two local album launches in one! Too good…
Fresh from performing at the Quinty and Majors Creek Folk Festivals, Daisy Chain will deliver poetic, heartfelt original songs about identity, connection and the state of the world. Led by singer-songwriter Jo Evans, they blend mandolin, bass ukulele, keyboards, drums, acoustic guitar, and rich vocal harmonies to create a warm, distinctive sound. They’ve been described as somewhere between The Seekers and Jenny Morris! Daisy Chain takes the vibe of sixties storytelling folk-rock and applies it to the stories of today.
Coolibah Coolective are back with their second album release ‘See the Scene’ – a fresh blend of jazzy folk grooves and storytelling soul. With this new addition to their contemporary folk repertoire you can feel the rhythm, hear the harmony, and see the scene unfold. Known for their solid catalogue of original music with wide appeal, Coolibah Coolective’s performances are powered by razor-edged strings, crisp percussion and gutsy melodies. Atmospheric songs blend cello, acoustic guitar and electric slide ukulele - the perfect backdrop for sublime harmonies.
