Wollongong garage-punks deliver hard hitting new single ahead of national tour.
It’s been a few years since Wollongong-based four-piece Hoon gave us their fun and frantic 17-minute album that was Hoon 2.0 back in 2019, and today they make their return in fine style with the intense vibes of Propane, alongside a national tour announce with the band hitting the road in August.
Bringing the best elements of early 90s punk with a healthy dose of grunge into present day, Propane packs big distorted guitars, a relentless rhythm section and surprisingly “sing-a-longable” gang vocals.
Propane comes with an incredibly fun music video, featuring a very tongue-in-cheek take on television infomercials and all manner of random “entertainment” from the perspective of a couch potato protagonist.
Of the track, vocalist Daniel Breda says “The song 'Propane' is a sarcastic stab at corruption, lies and war in big money, politics and media" while the video “is an irreverent and wry take on that idea to make a bit of joy and fun in an otherwise sad state."
