Multi-talented musician Elana Stone has stepped out with a sublime new cover of Mariah Carey's ephemeral classic Emotions, only a couple of months after launching previous release Panic Attack.
The new vid, which boasts an instrumentally minimalist but vocally lush aesthetic, comes as Stone approaches the halfway point of her month-long Wednesday-night residency at the Lansdowne Hotel, the next iteration of which will see her once again backed up by expert backing musos Harry Sutherland (keys) and James Hauptmann (drums), with support coming from Brissy-bred chamber-pop luminary Katie Wighton.
Previous cut Panic Attack, like Sleep Doesn't Come before it, is taken from Stone's third studio full-length, Duck For Cover, but on record is far from the only place you can enjoy her dulcet tones — she has a further two residency performances at the Lansdowne, on November 19 (with Lisa Caruso) and November 26 (with Alyx Dennison and Brendan McLean), before the month is out.
