WAMFest Focus: Lilt

Staff Writer

Answered by: Matt Mclean (producer/co-writer)
Give us a short description of your music: Dark, intricate and moving live electronica with a pop influence.
What is the best thing that’s happened to you/your band so far? Probably high rotation for our single Don't Tell Me, hearing it on air every day and getting a lot of streams really makes the whole sitting in a bedroom twiddling synths and rewriting endlessly worthwhile!
Has the party side of the music industry been all you were hoping for so far in your career? Lilt do like to party, probably a bit too hard... We make sure to keep it low key til we get off the stage now after a few dodgy shows earlier on in our career.
What industry lessons would you like to take away from WAMFest? New ways to promote our music with the prominence of blogs dropping away a little, and how to get added to Spotify curated playlists would be the two big things at this point for us.
What acts are you looking forward to checking out at WAMFest? Stella's a good mate of ours - it's fantastic how many goals she is kicking for herself and also making a stand in the industry for equality. Also keen to see Ziggy Ramo live!
Why should people come and see you from amongst the many cool bands at WAMFest? We've reworked and added in several new songs to our set, including three upcoming single releases. Come see us for new music and if you are a fan of brooding, dark live electronica.
When and where is your WAMFest gig? Taking the Lot Party stage 7:30pm on Nov 4, before and after some bloody great acts. We'll also have new merch to sell and give out so come say hey after the set!
