New Zealand alt/indie-rockers Tablefox are getting ready for the release of their upcoming album with the release of the video for their anthemic recent single Nothing Ever Changes.
The tune carries a conceptual element, being written by vocalist Clint Bell to tell the tale of a man named Johnny, who "beats the odds and makes it out of his small town".
"Johnny makes it big somewhere else, but his heart still beats strong for the place he grew up, and he wears that pride as a badge of honour," Bell explained of the track in a statement.
Nothing Ever Changes follows successful previous single Under A Broken Smile in furthering the Auckland five-piece's renown as torch-bearers for New Zealand's bountiful alt-rock scene, a position they've come to occupy through increasing critical support and three successful national tours.
The single was originally released in April this year before forming a part of the band's May EP, Glass Houses, their first collection of tunes since 2015's well-received debut full-length, Objects.
With more than five years' experience together behind them, Tablefox are beginning to achieve the kind of international attention they richly deserve, and Nothing Ever Changes sets them up for a resounding landing when they release their next studio full-length later this year.
In the interim, you can get acquainted with their previous releases over on their Bandcamp page.
