VIDEO PREMIERE: Steve Kilbey – ‘Sheba Chiba’

With his new track Sheba Chiba, Aussie singer-songwriter Steve Kilbey gave local filmmaker Clint Lewis a wealth of inspiration for its accompanying music video.

Premiering today via The Music, the new clip, taken from The Church legend’s latest album, Eleven Women, features actors Shakira Tanah and Tom Mitchell.

“Having worked on several videos with Steve Kilbey in the past, I am always surprised by his output and musical diversity,” Lewis told The Music.

“I am never sure what type of song Steve will send me and Sheba Chiba was no exception. The song shows off Kilbey’s pop sensibilities and is vastly different to the music and the videos created only a few months ago for his project with Gareth Koch – Songs From Another Life (Music Of Antiquity).

“Animated vignettes feature throughout the video for Sheba Chiba and draw inspiration from the cover art for Eleven Women. The rest of the video focuses on stepping away from a relationship with Sheba Chiba, despite how addictive that bond may be.”
