VIDEO PREMIERE: Moussa Diakite – ‘Danaya’

The lead single from Australian-based Malian guitarist, singer and composer Moussa Diakite’s forthcoming second album has arrived, bringing with it an inspiring music video.

Premiering today via The Music, Danaya has been described as a “joyous new single” and features Moussa’s “commanding electric guitar lines” over “aching violin, a pulsing rhythm section, and mesmerising call and response vocals”.

“After spending a few days with Moussa, what made the biggest impression on me was the deep respect his community holds for him, and the magic that they create together,” clip director and editor Maia Dal Berger told The Music.

“I tried to document and capture a little bit of this magic in the video. Danaya means honesty and integrity, and there is nothing more honest than humans being as they are.”

Moussa Diakite’s second album, Kanafo, is set for release late 2020.
