"King Street stood for much more than a location - it stood for sanctuary, the place we all have in mind when things get too much and we need to make a run for it."
Lontano have today unveiled their new single and accompanying video King Street, premiering exclusively via The Music.
The duo consists of Roz Pappalardo and Anthony Dettori, who have bonded together over their passion for earthy, alt-country storytelling, despite living 1,000 miles apart.
Acting as the fourth snippet of their eponymous debut album, King Street has a getaway theme that represents the happy, safe place that everyone desires to get to.
"With King Street, I wrote the bones of the song on a regional retreat that happened to be at a lovely house on the real King Street," Pappalardo stated.
"When I sent my notes to Anthony, we realised it was the same street where his family lived, once upon a time, long, long ago.
"By the time the song was finished, King Street stood for much more than a location - it stood for sanctuary, the place we all have in mind when things get too much and we need to make a run for it.

"Turns out, we both love a good road trip, and this theme lent the perfect excuse to take off in vintage wheels and swan around country roads for a bit, to make the video."
Check out the video exclusively above before its official release on February 2.
