"Such themes were not intentional, but I guess seep in on an unconscious level."
The music from Kilbey Kennedy, a collaboration from Steve Kilbey and Martin Kennedy, is “always very filmic and lends itself easily to interesting visual themes”, according to director Clint Lewis.
The filmmaker from Red Tapes Pictures worked with the duo on the clip for single Rendezvous, which premieres today via The Music.
“It’s obvious that their styles complement each other very well,” Lewis said.
“The video was created in response to the lyrics and tone of the song but upon reflection it also speaks about the isolation and seclusion felt around the world. Such themes were not intentional, but I guess seep in on an unconscious level."
The new track is taken from upcoming album Jupiter 13, released this Friday.
"Jupiter 13 is a rabbit I didn’t know was in the hat,” Kennedy told The Music.
