The Brisbane indie-soul/big band maestros get deeply joyful with the artistic accompaniment for 'Heartwork'.

Soulful Brisbane big-band outfit Graham Moes & The Petrichor have today revealed the colourful clip for their bouncy, feelgood new single Heartwork ahead of a quick run of shows in support of the new tune.

Shot at Hunting Ground Studios and edited by Zach Finlayson, the video is wonderfully simple but exceptionally effective in its execution, blending real-time and time-lapse footage in a beautifully seamless manner, focusing itself on the creation of the single's stunning artwork, by artist Eleanor Brimblecombe.

It's fascinating to watch her in (sped-up) action, the clip providing a condensed look at the tremendous love and effort that goes into creating her colourful scenery. Mixed in with some genuinely sweet footage of the band and painter enjoying each other's company — conveying the innately communal vibe that links all creative types, no matter their stripe — it's a truly uplifting piece of work that demands at least a couple of viewings to take in all the nuances and fun little moments that permeate the video's fabric.

Coming in the wake of their previous single, The Helm, Heartwork marks another velvet-smooth piece of ebullience from the acclaimed outfit, and fans of their work will be able to catch them in action at a trio of gigs over the next few weeks, kicking off at The Bearded Lady this Thursday, 24 August (with support from Pink Matter).
