VIDEO PREMIERE: Go Van Go - Always The Same

Brissy rock duo Go Van Go are preceding their impending appearance at the excellent Red Deer Festival with a brand new single and video in the utterly hectic Always The Same, proudly premiering on theMusic.com.au today.

Filmed in the historic, spartan confines of a now-demolished Brisbane landmark, the clip was directed by Simon Harvey Smith of Film Smith, and uses some clever editing to capture the raucous energy that emanates from band members Troy Henderson and Dan Sugars when they get on a stage.

The boys made full use of the space's then-condemned status to enrich the effect, too, letting loose with flying objects, smashing instruments, breaking windows and gleefully misusing fire extinguishers as the song drives home its snarling riff, urgent beats and frantic, emotive vocals.

Featuring a narrative revolving around the vengeful adventures of a vigilante out to get more-than-equal with the men who have wronged her, Always The Same is taken from Go Van Go's recently released third EP, Kill City: Renegades. It arrives in the wake of earlier efforts Superminx, There Was You and I'm Lost But Well Travelled, all of which have helped build Go Van Go's renown as a must-watch act, particularly given their reputation for routinely putting on riotous, memorable shows as though it were no thing at all.
