What Happens When An Auntie & Nephew Form A Band? Girl And Girl Happens.

"It's four minutes of Girl And Girl staunch."

More Girl & Girl Girl & Girl Profile

Brisbane indie quartet Girl And Girl are premiering their brand new video right here with The Music - to celebrate the launch of their debut EP, A Typical Friday Night (Shame, Sex And Misery).

The team of brothers Jayden and Coby Williams on guitar and bass combine with nephew/auntie duo Melissa and Kai James on drums and vocals. The former James a stalwart of the Brisbane punk scene, playing alongside the likes of You Am I and Jebadiah back in the day.

The newest tune form the band, Doctor Marten, comes complete with an idyllic clip that sees the four roaming around the Brisbane parks landscape - even stopping literally on the water for a quick jam sesh. Directed by Josh Northeast, the younger James said the concept was simple and straightforward.

"The song felt angry, and tough to me," he explained, "so I told Josh basically what we needed was a collection of angry looking shots walking around the town we grew up in, and that's pretty much what we got - it's four minutes of Girl And Girl staunch."
