"If I haven’t been tweaking a melody, scribbling a lyric, or re-recording a demo, I feel like it’s a day wasted."

More ELKI More ELKI

Acclaimed Aussie songwriter ELKI has today dropped the energetic and captivating music video for her latest single Nightmare, which is premiering on theMusic.com.au today.

Directed by Jack Shepard, who has worked with the likes of Lime Cordiale and Death Bells, the music video complements the inception of Nightmare, which the Sydney artist says she wrote "a large chunk" of in her sleep.

"I think that’s where Nightmare came from – my brain looking for a way to express all those pent up ideas," ELKI said.

"If I haven’t been tweaking a melody, scribbling a lyric, or re-recording a demo, I feel like it’s a day wasted. That’s why I’m a firm believer in turning the technology off and doing your own thing.”

To celebrate the release of the single, as well as the release of her EP Extended Play in May, ELKI will perform headline shows in Marrickville and Wollongong this month.
