Victorian singer-songwriter Daniel Reeves pays homage to the good people of Quambatook — one-time home of Molly Meldrum and the birthplace of legendary country musician John Williamson — in the video for his latest single Wild & Free.
Filmed on location in the country town, the video for the rollicking country jam includes live footage of the band performing for the residents as a bit of a thank-you for their assistance and hospitality when Reeves found himself stranded there for eight days thanks to a spot of car trouble during a national tour.
That incident wasn't all bad, of course; not only did he get to enjoy the inimitable charm of rural Australia for an extended stay, but he utilised the time to write the majority of his 2016 album In A Moment Of Chaos, from which Wild & Free is taken.
The album is available now via iTunes.
Reeves and his band have a few shows in the pipeline over the next several weeks, including an outing tonight at Echuca's American Hotel, a show at The Thornbury Local in Melbourne tomorrow, 23 September, as well as Melbourne and Echuca dates in October and November.
