Melbourne prog/hard rock masters Acolyte are continuing support for their lauded EP Shades Of Black with the video clip for Space And Time, the third single from the release.
The tune is an eight-minute epic that atmospherically builds up around vocalist Morgan-Leigh Brown before opening up its soundscape to include lurching, distorted guitars and a wailing solo in its first half, then giving way to an extended period of restrained, keys-led moodiness that pulls things back to almost whisper-quiet levels, feeling like a long outward breath that possesses an entirely different type of power than its earlier passages.
The clip, too, utilises a breadth of shifting, sprawling imagery to accompany the wide-ranging undulations of the song, setting the band primarily amid desert dunes interspersed with darker settings, as well as masked figures in remote fields.
It was directed and edited by Gary Robinson of Jarrah Film, with Brown serving as the video's art director, concept designer, producer and project manager.

Space And Time will be the final song from Shades Of Black to get a standalone release and, as such, Acolyte are hitting the road in support of the expansive new tune with a seven-date tour to mark its arrival.
The band will get started at Adelaide's Club 5082 before heading on to sling riffs and melt faces in Mt Gambier, Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney and Warrnambool before returning home to Melbourne, where they close out the tour on Saturday 18 November at the Evelyn Hotel.
These shows will be the last chance for fans to catch Acolyte in action before they return to the studio to prepare for the release of new music next year. See theGuide for all the details on coming along for the ride.
