The Neighbourhood have been touring like crazy, so when we caught up with the guys all we wanted to know is what they took to entertain themselves.

California band THE NEIGHBOURHOOD are gaining a boat load of positive buzz off the strength of their debut EP Im Sorry, and just like any self respecting act they are travelling like crazy to get the word out. Given all their touring we thought it might be interesting to catch up with the fellas and see the top 10 items they can't get on a plane without.

Kill-City-Jeans

10. Kill City Jeans

A cool young Melbourne band has to look cool and young waltzing around backstage and in the tour van; appearances are everything after all.

9. Nintendo DS

Because when you're tired of your band mates you need an outlet for all your frustrations, and whats better than classic Nintendo games like Kirby where you get to suck up and poop out your enemies with ease.

Again, you gotta look good, right.

This includes Air Jordan 1's, Vans [Sk8 hi's & Authentic's], Converse Chuck Taylor's, Dr Martens & Del Toro velvet slippers.

5. iPhones & Yelp

The two musts of any self respecting 20 something traveller so you can find the places you should be spending your mornings, afternoons and evenings.

4. Macbook Pro

For writing music, creating album/poster/flyer art & Netflix.

3. Toothpicks

An awesome invention, sure toothpicks are meant for picking leftover stringy food our of your teeth, but that isn't nearly as a glamorous as building huge structures. You make the choice.

2. Leather jackets (biker style)

You could feel as sexy and tough (well maybe not tough but still sexy) as Married with Children era Christina Applegate too if you rocked a leather jacket.

1. English Breakfast Tea

Soothes the throat, and just generally tastes great.
