While they are in the country for the annual Big Day Out Festival, Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss, who are known to the majority of people as the New York duo SLEIGH BELLS, have kindly decided to play a couple of sideshows for us in Sydney and Melbourne.
It’s hard to believe that just over four years ago, the two met in a park and were listening to Miller’s demos. These days you will find them at some of the world’s biggest festivals, performing what is known to some people as “one of the most intense live shows ever”.
Earlier this year, the band released their second studio album Reign Of Terror, which managed to peak at #33 in the ARIA Charts and score very high ratings from critics such as Pitchfork Media, who gave the album a well respected 8.2/10.

Supporting on both shows will be Brisbane’s DZ DEATHRAYS, while Sydney will also be spoilt with a DJ set from VAMPIRE WEEKEND’S BAIO, who has recently released an excellent solo EP called ‘Sunburn’.
In the meantime, we highly recommend that you check out the video clip for BAIO’s track ‘Sunburn Modern’ below.
SLEIGH BELLS BIG DAY OUT SIDESHOWS:
Saturday 19 January – Metro Theatre, Sydney
Wednesday 23 January – Billboard, Melbourne
Tickets will go on sale on Friday 21st September at 9am through Ticketek.
