Following last year's success with a sold-out Live At The Bowl show, Arts Centre Melbourne has once again teamed up with Australian youth-music organisation The Push for another all-ages event. Ahead of their performances at the April 10 gig at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, headlined by Dune Rats, we had Beddy Rays and Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers interview each other.
Who is Beddy Ray?
Beddy Ray is somewhat a figment of our imagination but in layman's terms, Beddy Ray is a bay full of red dirt.
What is each member’s star sign?
Jacko is an Aquarius, Brad is an Aries, Benny is a Leo and Lewy is a capsicum.
Are you willing to partake in a dance battle to Dune Rats' Scott Green at the show? And what dance moves are you going to bring to the table?
Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter
Oooo you bloody bet we'd be keen for that!! As for the dance moves - have you ever seen the movie Step Up? Gonna be using a plethora of moves from that mixed in with some gabba-esque, 2am smack bang in the middle of the nightclub d-floor inspired moves.
Top five favourite bands in Australia atm?
In no particular order!
The Terrys
The Buoys
King Stingray
Sophisticated Dingo
The Grogans
Name your favourite cruiser flavour?
We're more Midori splice blokes but if we had to pick it'd have to be the one that tastes like solo.
What's a Teen Jesus ritual for a good show?
Before every show we usually smash a couple of cruisers, then we get in a circle and do a warm-up dance together. Gotta sync up before getting on stage!
Do any of yas have a wicked party trick you'd be willing to whip out at the gig?
Jaida and Neve can both burp the alphabet so maybe one day we’ll break that out for a poor unfortunate crowd. People might ask for a refund though.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
Definitely teleportation so we never have to get on a plane ever again. Virgin is for virgins and Qantas is for cucks.
What is your favourite city to play a show in?
We've been lucky enough to play in most Australian cities but Canberra deserves the #1 spot. It's our hometown so gigs there are always so wholesome and nice.
Fender or Gibson?
Gotta go with Fender even though Scarlett’s SG is our pride and joy. Fenders are built different and we are very clumsy so we love knowing they won't break.
