“Basically it was an EP we knocked out pretty quickly,” says Allday, talking about how So Good came to be picked up by the national broadcaster, “over a couple of weeks just basically spending every waking minute on it. Then I put it up on Unearthed and luckily enough it caught the eye of the people at triple j. It definitely makes a huge difference having the support of radio.”
And Allday has also been hitting the live circuit hard of late, clocking up supports for some seriously major acts. Unfortunately, he won't reveal any juicy gossip, except about himself.
“To be honest, after supporting Diafrix and Thundamentals on tour, the only thing I have to say is that they are the kindest most humble dudes that I've been around. I was definitely lucky to start my touring life with people like that. I can give you dirt on myself though? One time at a petrol station outside of Newcastle I was talking on the phone while the cashier served me and then the cashier yelled at me for being rude. Then I threatened to get him fired for yelling at me, it was a pretty awkward situation.”
For those who have heard Allday's recorded work but never seen him live, it seems that the main difference between the two experiences concerns shouting, though probably not the kind you're thinking.

“If you listen to my recorded music it's usually pretty relaxing, I try to go in the other direction with the live show and get the energy up. You also get to buy me a drink after the show, which you can't do from the comfort of your bedroom. I'll be premiering songs from my new mixtape, which is out in early December. Other than that you'll have to come and find out for yourself!”
