The Melbourne five-piece will release their debut full-length of the same name in October.
Melbourne five-piece The General Assembly have unveiled Vanishing Point, the title track from their forthcoming debut full-length due out in October.
Proudly premiering on theMusic.com.au today, the tune seamlessly merges elements of indie-rock, post-rock and electronica into a tightly woven, atmospheric adventure that traverses its multiple peaks and troughs with a stylish, effortless air.
The tune was produced by D.A. Calf (Mojo Juju, Kira Puru, The Seabellies) and is a sublime demonstration of the band's copious talents, centering on the powerful, malleable vocals of frontman Matt Wicking. Furthering their penchant for environmentally and socially conscious songwriting, Vanishing Point is billed as a song that "articulates the transition back to nature at death".
The album from which it's taken represents the culmination of several years' work for the band, who first emerged back in 2009 with their well-regarded EP Dark Mountain Music.
