Sydney producer Swaré made an early mark with his collaboration on Starving For You, by fellow Sydneysider Failr, and now he's ready to strike out on his own with his eminently danceable debut single, I Want You To Move.
The track — which was co-produced by the ARIA-nominated Michael McGlynn (L-FRESH The LION, Little May) and Toby Chew-Lee, of MOZA — does exactly what it says on the box, bringing big beats, funky synths and soulful vocals to the fore, creating a package likely to set many a dance floor aflame, if early response from those who've heard it is any indication.
"It started with these synth chords that I was just messing around with," Swaré explained of the song. "Then I pieced together the guitar lick that became the hook for the track. I didn't have any vocals or arrangement as such but I loved the guitar line.
"I actually wasn't going to use it initially but I was going through some material in the studio and after I played it to Toby and Michael it was a unanimous 'you need to use this' moment. There was this little work experience girl in the corner as well, she might have been 15, and she was like, 'YES! This is my favourite.'"
