PREMIERE: Smoke Rings Serve Up Fuzzy, Synth-Splashed Goodness In New Single 'Happiness'

The tune comes from the Melbourne band's double A-side 7", 'Go To Hell'.

Melbourne five-piece Smoke Rings tap into their inner Brit-poppers on their inviting new single, Happiness, taken from their new double A-side 7", Go To Hell.

Following on from their well-received 2016 debut EP, the band continue to show their strengths as savvy songwriters, lining the walls of their fuzzy bittersweet tune with vintage synth sounds and sing-along choruses, and balancing their trademark downcast vibe with an innate sense of vibrancy and smooth, accessible hooks.

To complement their growing profile — their previous single Rose Coloured Glasses scored an early add on Double J and earned praise from the likes of Richard Kingsmill and Dom Alessio, and have shared stages with some of the nation's other most buzzworthy bands — the Victorian outfit will be heading on a quick tour in the wake of the single's release.

The three-date tour will see them support Ali Barter in Castlemaine and Melbourne next month, with a trip to Adelaide on the cards in October to support Siamese.
