"It’s probably our best song so far and it the first recording to feature the entire line-up of the band."
Peachfield share their brand new single today, premiering on The Music.
Dubbed Just One Star, the track sees the Sydney alt-country six-piece take one of songwriter and producer Robert F Cranny's "oldest riffs" to turn it into their "freshest song".
"Just One Star feels like the first proper Peachfield tune," said Cranny.
"It’s probably our best song so far and it the first recording to feature the entire line-up of the band. The electric guitar riff is something I’d been playing around with for ages. It all just sort of came together: the overheard conversations in the lyrics and the floating choirs of angles in the chorus, provided by The Necks producer Tim Whitten."
The group are set to release their debut EP and limited edition songbook on Friday 6 November, head here for more info.
