Nick PesFor Sydney artist Nick Pes, new single I Want To was a “way of letting out a big scream”.
The indie electro talent was channelling intense indecisiveness and melancholy while writing the “sad banger”.
“I Want To lives in that moment where you compose a text message, you delete it, re-write it and then never send it,” Pes told The Music.
“For me, it was about trying to connect with someone who I hadn’t spoken to in a while and having to navigate whether it was the right thing to do, for me and for them.
“There's a kind of paralysis in that moment when you want to do something, but at the same time you don’t.”
