More HiaGround More HiaGround

Rootsy indie-pop five-piece Hiaground have started 2017 — and the lead-up to their impending debut EP — pretty damn strong, having already crossed ears back in January with first taster Face In The Mirror, and today they're following it up with catchy new single Summer No Other.

Premiering today on theMusic.com.au, the song showcases a slightly rockier side of the band and was produced by their good mate Oscar Sharah. Considering it's only the band's third-ever single — their debut track, False Feelings, landed back in August 2015 — the boys convey a great deal of confidence in their sound, reflecting their openly worn influences such as Sticky Fingers and The Beautiful Girls.

Their EP isn't due to be released until later this year but, more immediately, if you're in the area, HiaGround are playing a show at Oxford Art Factory this Saturday, 1 April, as part of the Dog Days event, which also features sets from Luen, Majun Bu, Thunderfox, Sharah's band Oscar & The Grouches and more.

The fun starts at 8pm; see theGuide for more information.
