SINGLE PREMIERE: Halcyon Drive - 'Elephant Bones'

"It muses about the habits and compulsions we all have to be online, and the dark side of the black mirror."

Melbourne-based indie-rock trio Halcyon Drive are set to release their debut album tomorrow and to get you in the mood we have a sneak peak to premiere exclusively on theMusic.com.au.

The track, Elephant Bones, is taken off the band's debut long-player of the same name which was recorded and co-produced by Eskimo Joe's Joel Quartermain. The 12-track record follows the success of five previously released singles, Silver Ray, Agnosia, The Birds, Only Youth and Reach.

The band think this brand new cut is "definitely one of our favourite tunes to play live from the album" and consider it "an upbeat peak to cap off the record".

"Lyrically, it was a real stream-of-consciousness about technology, and the role it plays in our lives today," they said.

"It muses about the habits and compulsions we all have to be online, and the dark side of the black mirror. But also about the luxury of connectivity, and how fast the world is changing everyday. What will our relics be? What is our legacy to future generations?”
