Dalli ProfileHaving honed his crafted busking on the streets of Melbourne this past year, Brisbane-born indie pop singer Dalli has released a compelling debut single in Who Are You.
The lush and emotionally textured release was written along the Great Ocean Road, which is an interesting setting to channel some of the intensely private inspirations he was drawing from, including a break-up and big opportunity passing him by.
“I went down the Great Ocean Road, camped alone for a couple of nights and meditated. I sat in this empty, dark place for a long time and discovered something totally solid and unmoving,” he recalls.
“Underneath all the confusion, fear and emptiness there was a stillness and strength within me, because it was completely separate from all those things I’d previously thought made up me.”
The song is officially out next Tuesday, with a launch confirmed at The Grace Darling for October 19.
