More Chase City More Chase City

Tasmanian partystarters Chase City are shaking things up with their new single, Back In Motion, which we at theMusic.com.au are chuffed to be premiering today.

Drawing on heavy synths and catchy vocals, the band put down their guitars and enlisted mixing engineer Malcolm Besly of Northeast Party House for one last single before the year is out.

"We really tried to include our usual guitar hooks but they just weren't fitting and we were happy to take a really electronic approach to this,” Chase City told The Music.

“We had just watched the latest Trainspotting film before recording the song and we just wanted the production to feel like a song that could fit into a soundtrack like that."

"The lyrics are from a trip to Vietnam a couple of years back and just seemed to work really well with the song so the sentiment for the song is a bit outdated but is just about a time in our musical career where we were in that transition from early 20s kids into adulthood and trying to make music remain rewarding and enjoyable whilst growing up and having to juggle a lot more responsibilities."

Chase City will perform at Highfields Festival this Saturday before supporting Lime Cordiale in Hobart and Launceston in December and performing a headline show in Melbourne later that same month.
