"The song is more hopeful than bleak and I’d like to think that comes across.”
The new track from Burning Jacobs Ladder, the moniker for Aussie singer-songwriter Jake Johnson, takes a different direction to that of his debut single last month and has been described as a “laid-back, gloomy and mind-bending number”.
It’s another taste of Johnson’s forthcoming EP, slated for release next month.
“Lyrically it’s a metaphor for anxiety, musically it’s quite playful, and that contrast encompasses anxiety for me,” Johnson told The Music.
“All can seem well and happy on the outside but when you look deep enough it may tell a different story. That being said, the song is more hopeful than bleak and I’d like to think that comes across.”
