"A Halloween horror film in musical form."
It's nearly Halloween and dark, brooding blues-rockers The Blackwater Fever are releasing a new single called The Boogie Woogie. Officially released on Monday 26 October, The Music has an exclusive premiere for you right here.
It's their first new music since 2019's In Stereo B-Sides release, and frontman of the Brisbane band Shane Hicks explains that the song is "a Halloween horror film in musical form. Dark, grimy and unrelenting."
He goes on to further say The Boogie Woogie is about the "gentle persuasion of the Devil, the Boogie Man. Australia's ice epidemic and/or the crack epidemic of Los Angeles. The seemingly harmless incitement to try a hard drug for the first time only to be overcome by the need for more, perpetually feeding the beast."
