Single title? eightfiveninetyseven
What's the song about? The day my dad passed away when I was 16. It was released on the 20th anniversary of his death.
How long did it take to write/record? I wrote and demoed this song a few years ago but it wasn't until this year that it was recorded professionally. I do say it was the song that took 20 years to write.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? This is the first single taken from my forthcoming full length album titled Rangeville. This song really sets the theme for the other 13 songs to follow.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? The song is about the day my dad suddenly died when I was 16 and how our lives were turned upside down as a result. So I was really channelling that time and those emotions.
We'll like this song if we like... Honest heartfelt melodic punk rock from the '90s and early 2000s.
Do you play it differently live? For sure, most of the single launch shows leading up to the album will be solo acoustic but once the album is out I'll be getting the full band together.
When and where is your launch/next gigs? Currently in the process of booking the single launch acoustic tour and the wheels are turning on the full band album launches.
