What's the song about? The inevitable separation you have from loved ones when you make your first real journey out into the world.
How long did it take to write/record? It was very easy to write but it took a long time for the recording to get to the point where I was happy with it. It's evolved a lot since I first wrote it.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Yep, the track is from my forthcoming EP, Outside The Lines, which will be out later this year.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? I was moving to Montana for six months so I was dealing with a mixed bag of doubt, fear and excitement.
We'll like this song if we like... Bon Iver's trumpet player, Fractures, Hayden Calnin.
Do you play it differently live? Yeah quite a bit differently. It tends to be different whenever we play it, it's very emotive so it depends on how I'm feeling as to what comes out.
When and where is your launch/next gig? 21 Aug, Prince Of Wales, Bunbury; 22 Aug, The White Star Hotel, Albany; 23 Aug, Yallingup Caves House Hotel; 28 Aug, Indi Bar, Scarborough.
