Single title? Set Me Alight
What’s the song about? I could make up something poetic or ambiguous but it’s about make up sex... There, I said it.
How long did it take to write/record? I wrote it incredibly quickly; it came together in only a few hours. It took a longer to produce. There were multiple versions as we wanted it to sound just right.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? It’s a single at this stage. We have another one from the same session, ready to go. They may turn into an EP – depends on what the next tracks we produce sound like.
What was inspiring you during the song’s writing and recording? I’d just spent a month in Europe and had been listening to a lot of ‘80s synth-driven music and disco, and early ‘00s breaks and I wanted to somehow bring the two together.
We’ll like this song if we like... Todd Terje, Daft Punk, The Presets, Justice, ‘80s disco, ‘90s chilled dance and early ‘00s breaks.
Do you play it differently live? Hells yeah! We never play anything exactly the same live, that’s boring – for us and the audience. Set Me Alight is pretty epic live…
When and where is your launch/next gig? 13 February, Revolver Upstairs. That’s the single launch and we’re doing a massive show, with some rad supports. We’re also playing St Kilda Festival and Sydney in March.
