Single title? Dragons

What’s the song about? Ancient maps used depictions of dragons, citing “here be dragons” to indicate uncharted territories – an analogy for love!

How long did it take to write/record? It took a couple of weeks from conception to mastering.

Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Dragons has been included for the soundtrack for Beijing Being, an upcoming feature film by Australian director Emma Jaay. It will also be on an album I am currently working towards for release in 2016.

What was inspiring you during the song’s writing and recording? I wanted Dragons to demand something of the listener immediately; the strong and commanding lyrics, driving synths, sinister drone, and transcendental vocals...

We’ll like this song if we like... This song has been likened to MSMR, Ellie Goulding, Kate Bush and Imogen Heap.

Do you play it differently live? Mark Spiteri plays live drums on stage instead of samples, so the sound is authentic, which is important to me.

When and where is your launch/next gig? We’re launching Dragons at The Vanguard on 21 May.
