Single title? Streets
What's the song about? It's about adolescent confusion and having dreams and wanting to escape.
How long did it take to write/record? Quite a while! After many fits and starts and misfires we finally got it to a point that resembles what I hear in my head
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? It's the title track from our debut EP that will be out later in the year.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? I was reading Jack Kerouac's On the Road and listening to Bruce Springsteen. I also went on my own road trips through America and across Australia around this time
We'll like this song if we like... Well we get told that we sound like Smashing Pumpkins, Bruce Springsteen, The Triffids, The Cure.
Do you play it differently live? No. It's more impactful live though I think, but that's for the audience to decide I suppose
When and where is your launch/next gig? We are launching the single at Four5Nine bar in North Perth on Friday 10 March with Wanderers (over from South Australia), Simone & Girlfunkle and Luke Dux helping us out.
