Single title? My Whole Life
What’s the song about? An individual with superhuman powers travels to the sun. He slams into the sun’s atmosphere and becomes a spirit.
How long did it take to write/record? This one started off as an improvised late night jam after many glasses of... water and many bowls of... cereal... yes. We later nailed it down over two studio sessions.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? The track is featured on our debut single, which we are releasing on 7” wax through our house label, Green Chimneys Records.
What was inspiring you during the song’s writing and recording? We all love underground hip hop. I was thinking about the Wu-Tang Clan album 36 Chambers and that RZA-style production when I played the beat. J Dilla is also a continual inspiration to me.
We’ll like this song if we like... Wu-Tang, Cypress Hill, J Dilla, The Roots, Laneous & The Family Yah, MKO... All that good shit.
Do you play it differently live? When we play it live the arrangement is the same but with extra spectral harmonic alleviation devices and cleansing screams of unity!
When and where is your launch/next gig? It’s on Saturday 1 Nov at Black Bear Lodge.
