Rob Mills is set to star in a Taxiride biopic where he plays every member of the band.
Australia's best loved band Taxiride are set to be immortalised in a biopic starring Australia's biggest celebrity Rob Mills, SPA Confidential can confirm today.
With the working title of Hey, Get In My Car, first-time producer Paul Lonker is behind the project after he came out trumps in a fierce bidding war for the script on eBay. Preliminary script readings have been held under a veil of tight secrecy but it has been confirmed that Mills has been in attendance for at least one session reading up to ten roles.
“This is going to be his Eddie Murphy moment,” a source close to the film said, “he really wants to get his teeth into this and play all four members of the band. He'll probably play their manager, label rep and most of the roadies as well – he's really passionate about this project. There's even a rumour going around that he'll play the majority of the crowd as well.”
It is believed that Mills has been sold the role by people claiming it “will be as good as those Eddie Murphy films” and that “you'll look as cool as that guy who played the two brothers in The Social Network.”

Lonker is understood to be preparing a crowd-funding push to raise the $100 million that the film's budget required. Incentives to investors include a tutorial with Rob Mills on 'how to buy gift cards for online clothing stores', a fun how to save on your electrical bill seminar with one of the interns and – for the big spenders – free range to re-write the band's Wikipedia page.
A release date has not yet been set but there are already whispers that Mills may appear as a 'guest contestant' on the current series of The Voice for their Taxiride theme night.
