Animal House are a Brighton-based garagey rock band who know their place in the world, in a way that's honestly super refreshing. Currently in the midst of an ambitious, one-song-a-fortnight project called Premium Mediocre, they fully understand their position as five white men playing garage rock'n'roll. Fortunately for them, that likeable brand of self-awareness is backed up by some cracking tunes, with a DIY aesthetic that is wholly enticing, and hits peak form in the video clip for the single, No Mamma.
The yellow subtitle track is a joyous self-mockery of being in a band, set to the story of a band committed to the slacker lifestyle, even while those around them "grow up". Something we can all relate to, to be sure. While we're sad to see the group left Australia to pursue this career, we're stoked to see 'em killing it, and look forward to keeping tabs on them moving forward.
