Violet is a producer/vocalist from Sydney making music "driven by my obsession with field recording and sampling." Her latest single, (wo)man is very much what the title suggests, exploring the oppression of women throughout history with a very dark, moody electronic track. It creeps up on you, with Violet's haunting vocal delivery peering through some sparse, ominous production, and now comes with a perfect video clip: "Earlier this year my boyfriend and I drove from Uluru to Darwin, along the way working on producing (wo)man and writing material for my upcoming debut EP. Whilst travelling through the Northern Territory we shot a lot of VHS footage, which has ended up becoming the music video for (wo)man."
