It's a slight, but not unwelcome, change in direction for the Brissy outfit..
Following the release of latest single Touch N Go and a bunch of tour dates to go with it, Brisbane soul/ska/funk outfit Cheap Fakes have unleashed the track's accompanying video clip ahead of their remaining shows. The track itself is a bit more of a shift towards the worlds of psychedelic and disco, and video clip definitely backs those vibes up: "I really loved how Groove Armada were playing electronic dance music but played by real instruments. It was just an idea, a groove, a riff. It didn't go any further than that originally until a late night recording session... We aren't sticking to any genres or styles, we're making music that we want to make. No boundaries. Just to see where it goes organically. It's exciting and fresh."
And if tracks like Touch N Go are the result, then we're all in for a slight sonic shift for the group. Check it out below, and catch 'em live at one of the remaining tour dates (full list down the bottom).
