Premiere: Perth's Almond Soy launch into 2019 with Apartment, national tour

After a big 2018 packed with an EP release, singles and even international shows, one of Perth's best make a return..

Perth indie rockers Almond Soy are an act we've really come to champion over the last two years or so, whether it be introducing them via their summer-channelling debut single Fine, getting to know them a touch better with their one-shot video for Happy Ever After, or premiering the clip for their latest single Avenue – "their strongest work yet" that highlights their light-hearted, but focused approach to indie-rock. There's also been the release of their debut EP Social Misfit early last year, international shows and local sell-outs, and a whole heap more – in summary, Almond Soy are doing damn good for what was initially a bedroom project two-piece from Perth's north.

Their 2019 has been relatively quiet thus far release-wise, taking things a bit quieter as they record new work and well-deservedly chill out after a wild past twelve months. This changes, however, with today's premiere of Apartment – an upbeat, theme-heavy return that centres and spotlights that delicate indie-rock groove Almond Soy have been known for. Premiering today ahead of the official release tomorrow, Apartment is a "mid-tempo groove based song about reflecting and moving passed on from negative relationships in your life" according to lead vocalist Brandon Stockbridge, placing a heavy focus on the single's lyrics and themes as the guitar-backed instrumental grooves underneath.

It arrives as the band set out on an extensive national tour currently underway, with Almond Soy teaming up with Beyond Blue (part of the tour's profits will be donated to the organisation) and Happy Happy Soy Boy for the occasion. Check out the single below, and catch the dates underneath that:
