Liam Gerner & The Sunset PushersMelbourne outfit Liam Gerner & The Sunset Pushers have a busy few weeks on the horizon, with their brand new single Your Property set to land tomorrow ahead of a run of shows in November and December.
Your Property is being proudly premiered by The Music before its official release tomorrow, and marks the first taste from the band's forthcoming self-titled full-length, due out in February through MGM.
The ensemble itself is a new concern too, with seasoned musicians Steve Hadley, Toby Lang and Shane Reilly filling out the ranks and providing the usually-solo Gerner with a live and luscious soundscape in which to play.
It's a good look, too, with the new song — a rough-edged, reflective, thoroughly rock-tinged affair — standing out as a point of distinction in comparison with the troubadour's earlier works such as the down-home twang of 2014's Hank & Tammy or the acoustic introspection of The Resurrection Of Henry Box Brown, to name but a couple of apt examples.
The band will celebrate their new releases from Friday 18 November, when they'll kick off an eight-date tour that begins at Adelaide's Stone Pony and takes them through stages in Melbourne, Nambour (solo show), Brisbane, Mullum, Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle, where they wrap up in early December.
