Melbourne-based muso James Teague has been keeping things a bit hectic of late — he managed to pull in more than $900 in the final 24 hours of his recent LP crowdfunding effort to ensure the project came to fruition — but he's taken some time out from his busy schedule to premiere his brand new clip, When The World Divides, on theMusic.com.au today.
Created in collaboration with film whizzes Jenna Eriksen and Jesse Smith, When The World Divides is an eerie, low-lit, projection-laced accompaniment to the evocative, ambling track, which lilts and heaves with breathy guitar and plodding percussion while Teague's alternately delicate/powerful vocal tremors complete the otherworldly package.
Teague now turns his attention to his impending launch tour in honour of the new album, titled Beyond The Melting Dawn, with a run of shows around the country next month; he gets under way in Perth with a secret house concert this Wednesday, 21 November, heading across to Sydney's Hibernian House on 27 November, up to Brisbane for another secret house concert on 28 November, and wrapping up in Melbourne, at Goodtime Studios, on 29 November.
In addition to his headline shows, Teague and his band will be stopping off at this coming weekend's Magic Truffle Festival, at 24 Moons, Melbourne, for a set on 23 October, so if you're in Victoria and don't want to wait another month and a bit for your date with James, you could always get the drop on everyone else and take in a bunch of excellent music while you're at it.
